Matthew E. Clancy Scholarship Fund

Dear Brother Umpires:

My family has established a scholarship fund in honor of my late son. Matt, my only son, was 24 years old when he died in an automobile accident on Dec. 30, 2010. ALL donations collected for the fund will be awarded to a graduating senior(s) at South Shore Voc Tech. Matt is a 2004 graduate of SSVT. The funds presented to a boy or girl or both will be used to help pay for college or start-up expenses for an apprentice entering a trade career. My family and I view this fund as a positive way to keep Matt’s memory alive and help a deserving student(s) begin to fulfill their dreams. This Fund is non-profit, therefore contributions are tax deductable. A letter will be sent to you confirming your contribution, so please provide a return address. Save this letter, in case of an audit you may need proof of your donation. No donation is too small. Thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Bob Clancy, SSUA Member Class of 1996

Please send checks payable to:

The Joe Driscoll Foundation

Joe Driscoll

The Joe Driscoll Foundation has been established in memory of longtime CBUA Member & Past President and 3-time College World Series Umpire Joe Driscoll.

In 2007 Joe Driscoll died of a massive heart attack as he was preparing to leave for his game at Tufts University.

Joe was truly a legend in college baseball umpiring and we established The Joe Driscoll Foundation in his memory.

Last year, the Joe Driscoll Foundation awarded three $2000 scholarships to member students. We will do the same again this year.

Joe helped alot of College and High School Umpires get their start Joe was the assingnor for the Boston Park League…… Please any little bit helps. This fund helps children of umpires go to college. Thank You
